Management of diesel generator sets:
In addition to serving as standby power supplies for ordinary organizations, diesel generator sets are often used as fire-fighting standby power for high-rise buildings and are generally managed by property management companies. However, because the utilization rate is extremely low and maintenance and repair costs are very high, they often do not receive sufficient attention from managers. Over time, the standby power source becomes merely decorative. When the standby power system is first installed, the generator set can often meet backup standards, but if it is neglected over the long term, it may be unable to provide standby power to fire-protection facilities in the event of an emergency, with unthinkable consequences. Even when used by ordinary organizations as production backup power, failure of the backup system in an emergency can cause major economic losses, yet generator sets serving as fire-fighting standby power in ordinary buildings often lack effective management. In response, emergency backup power management measures for high-rise civil buildings should be established, training institutions should be set up for generator set maintenance, and managers should still be required to work with certification after training. Improving the competence of managers is the fundamental way to ensure that diesel generator sets truly fulfill their standby role.

Operating when the coolant volume is insufficient or when the coolant or engine oil temperature is too high.
Insufficient cooling water in a diesel generator will reduce its cooling effect. If the diesel engine cannot obtain effective cooling, it will overheat. Excessively high temperatures of the cooling water and engine oil will also cause diesel engine overheating. At this time, the main components of the diesel generator such as the cylinder head, cylinder liner, piston assembly, and valves will be subjected to heavy thermal loads. Their mechanical properties such as strength and toughness will drop sharply, increasing part deformation, reducing clearances between parts, accelerating wear, and in severe cases causing cracks and seizure failures. Overheating of the diesel generator will also worsen the combustion process of the diesel engine, causing injector malfunction, poor atomization, and increased carbon deposits.
When using a diesel generator set, be sure to strictly follow the manufacturer's instructions, actively participate in training, and inspect and maintain the unit on schedule according to the user manual so that the diesel generator set can realize its full value.
